Little three year old ___________ was bored one afternoon. No one would play
with you! Your father, Yao, was busy doing some paperwork. Meanwhile your uncle, Kiku, was in his room probably watching anime. You sat on the floor petting his dog named Pochi. But all of a sudden you got a great idea.
You dashed over to the kitchen
staring up at the refrigerator. Yes, you were going to climb up the refrigerator.
Somehow you had successfully reached your destined spot, the very top of the refrigerator. You sat up there looking downward. Uh-oh. How were you going to get down? Feeling completely helpless, your eyes began to water.
"…B-baba!" Your little voice cried for your father in despair. By now, tears streamed down your face. "Baba! Baba!" Yao heard your calls… in the kitchen? He was confused as to why you would even be there. But he stormed in anyway finding you in your unusual place. He gaped at his daughter wondering how on earth she managed to get up there. "Aiyah!! How did you get up there, aru?!"
Kiku shortly came running in after hearing all the commotion. He immediately saw what caused all the abrupt noise. "___-_____-chan, are you okay?"
You ignored all their questions and kept crying. Since you were so small, the refrigerator was very high up for you.
Yao grabbed a nearby stool and stood on it reaching the upper part of the fridge. "Alright, ________. Come here." He stretched toward you. You slowly inched over finally landing in Yao's arms. "What were you thinking, ________?" The Chinese man wiped your tears, brushing your hair off your face.
"I want oji!" You wailed. Yao sighed handing you to his younger brother. "I have to finish my work." He let the two of you know, excusing himself. You rested your head on Kiku's shoulder feeling the soft fabric of his kimono rub against your cheek. He smiled admiring his young, adorable niece.
Taking one of his hands, he began to gently stroke your small back, sweetly crooning various Japanese lullabies. Your eyes drifted close, finally calming down. Kiku stopped humming when he heard your breath soften. Smiling again, he lightly kissed your head.
With sleeping ___________ in his arms, he walked over to Yao's room, cracking the door open with his free hand. "She fell asleep." He quietly stated from the doorway. Yao looked up from his pile papers, meeting Kiku's gaze. An expression of jealousy immediately changed his features.
"What!? That is no fair! She never does that with me, aru!!" He yell-whispered, crossing his arms with a frown. Kiku only chuckled back in a hushed tone, amused with his older brother's reaction. He stepped out of the room silently closing the door behind him.
Yao remained in his seat now warmly smiling. He remembered when Kiku was little. Humming and rocking the sweet baby in his arms was a precious memory
Kiku went back into the living room to sit on the couch. He didn't want to risk waking you, so he just kept you in his arms.
"Yoku chīsana ichi surīpu."
